The mahogany body is chambered to .25" around the perimeter (with extra material left at the bridge and the neck pocket) with an african cherry (makore) top. Pictured to the right: the chamber is sealed with shellac just before the top is glued in place. The high gloss body finish consists of multiple coats of shellac, a pore-filler called Z-poxy, and KTM-9 waterbase lacquer. This is the most environmentally friendly guitar finish available today. The neck is finished similarly to a satin sheen.
